Use cases

Controlled knowledge for regulated work.

Venora is designed for situations where an answer must be supported by approved evidence, constrained by access permissions and honest about uncertainty.

A note on maturity. The scenarios below describe potential applications for evaluation. Availability depends on the connected sources, required controls and deployment environment.

Primary focus

Quality and compliance knowledge

Venora begins with workflows where approved procedures, effective versions, traceability and human review directly affect operational decisions.

  • Controlled procedures and SOPs

The current approved procedure for the situation in front of you, with version and effective date.

  • Deviations and CAPA

The relevant procedures and supporting evidence during investigation and corrective action.

  • Audit preparation

The controlled source behind a policy, procedure or decision, before someone else asks for it.

  • Document-version control

Current approved information separated from superseded material, not merged into one result list.

  • Quality-event investigation

The approved documentation, records and prior events relevant to a quality event, assembled for review.

  • Approved work instructions

The effective instruction for a task, with the revision and approval status visible before work begins.

Evaluation scenario

Insurance

Insurance teams work across policy wording, underwriting guidance, claims procedures and regulatory controls. The applicable document and version can materially change the correct operational response.

Venora should support human decision-making. It must not make autonomous underwriting, pricing, coverage or claims decisions.

Example scenario

“What escalation procedure applies to this category of disputed claim?”

How Venora responds

  • Searches only approved claims procedures
  • Respects role and business-unit access
  • Identifies the effective document version
  • Cites the relevant section
  • Refuses when the documentation does not determine the outcome

Possible workflows

  • Claims operations
  • Underwriting guidance
  • Complaints handling
  • Product governance
  • Risk and compliance procedures

Evaluation scenario

Banking and financial services

Banking employees need current internal procedures across compliance, risk and operations. Outdated or poorly sourced guidance can create regulatory and operational exposure.

Venora must not independently approve customers, determine creditworthiness, execute transactions or make regulated financial decisions.

Example scenario

“Which enhanced due-diligence procedure applies to this customer category?”

How Venora responds

  • Searches the approved internal procedure set
  • Checks document status and effective date
  • Applies employee access permissions
  • Cites the controlling procedure
  • Escalates conflicts or insufficient evidence

Possible workflows

  • AML and KYC procedures
  • Operational risk controls
  • Internal policies
  • Audit preparation
  • Regulatory change guidance

Evaluation scenario

Legal knowledge is highly permission-sensitive and often depends on exact wording, executed versions and subsequent amendments.

Venora provides evidence retrieval and knowledge support. It does not replace qualified legal judgement or provide legal advice.

Example scenario

“What notice period applies under the executed agreement and its amendments?”

How Venora responds

  • Retrieves only documents available within the requester's scope
  • Distinguishes drafts from executed documents
  • Identifies amendments affecting the original clause
  • Cites the exact clause and document
  • Surfaces conflicting wording for human review

Possible workflows

  • Contract review support
  • Clause and obligation retrieval
  • Approved precedents
  • Internal legal guidance
  • Matter knowledge

Evaluation scenario

Medical practices and healthcare providers

Healthcare organisations manage operational, quality, safety and clinical documentation under strict privacy and access requirements.

Initial evaluations should focus on organisational knowledge, not patient-specific diagnosis, treatment recommendations or autonomous clinical decisions. Any processing of health data requires a separate legal, privacy and security assessment.

Example scenario

“Which approved procedure governs the escalation of this type of safety incident?”

How Venora responds

  • Searches only the approved procedural corpus
  • Applies role-based access
  • Identifies the current effective version
  • Provides evidence and document metadata
  • Refuses when the sources do not support a response

Possible workflows

  • Quality and safety procedures
  • Administrative protocols
  • Equipment instructions
  • Incident reporting
  • Staff operational guidance

Evaluation scenario

Public-sector organisations

Public-sector employees often work across extensive policy, procedural and regulatory documentation where authority, date and access status determine whether guidance can be relied upon.

Venora should not make autonomous decisions affecting an individual's legal rights, eligibility or access to public services.

Example scenario

“Which current procedure applies to this category of administrative case?”

How Venora responds

  • Searches approved internal guidance
  • Preserves access restrictions
  • Identifies the authoritative version
  • Links the response to the source
  • States when human interpretation is required

Possible workflows

  • Administrative procedures
  • Internal policy guidance
  • Case-handling instructions
  • Governance documentation
  • Audit preparation

Common control model

Different sectors, the same evidence requirements.

The industry changes. The core requirement does not: an answer should be usable only when the authorised evidence supports it.

  • Approved sources

Retrieval is limited to the sources the organisation has approved for the assistant.

  • Effective versions

The current effective version is identified, and superseded material is separated from it.

  • Permission before retrieval

Access is checked before retrieved content reaches the model, not filtered afterwards.

  • Evidence-linked answers

Material answers cite the document, passage and version behind them.

  • Conflict presentation

Where approved sources disagree, both are surfaced for human review rather than resolved silently.

  • Explicit refusal

When the authorised evidence is insufficient, Venora says so instead of improvising.
